Looking for potential spare machines in case any of those in my office breaks down.
The two software that I am using cannot run in Lion.
The most "advanced" system in which they can survive is Snow Leopard ... Originally I plan to use this as my daily workhorse, so I turn it into RAID 1 for resilience.
Or course, you can run Snow Leopard on it. I am not sure whether SL supports software RAID. I have not caught up with computer stuffs la.
I don't even understand "software RAID" ... :( SL/Disk Utilities allows RAID setup.
In simple terms, the two discs under RAID 1 will be updated the same data at the same time and in case one of them fails, the other one is still functioning. Thanks!
But as far as i know, once you install Lion onto a Mac, you cannot install SL or lower.
It seems Lion installation changes part of the Rom in your Mac.
Dont know if this is true ... Interesting. Haven't thought about this b4. Try to 爬文. There are a number of tutorials showing how to downgrade from ML to SL. May be you are mentioning the preinstallation of the SL software on the harddrive which SL doesn't have.
