[WTB] Apple iMac 27" i3 or i5
monitor display shall be in good condition, model can be mid 2010 or mid 2011, preferrably with 16GB ram{:4_109:}
Why not got a i7? of course don't mind if I can afford the offer....Paul hing, you got one for sale? I am still using a late 2009 model. actually if budget allows, the newer model (slim design) is much better in terms of reliability wor (becos less heat dissipation) . Jason 發表於 2013-12-14 17:39

Thanks for your advice, Jason.I have been using mid2007 24" imac, got 2 of them, so far they are very stable, it doesn't worth to spend that much for a slim one at the moment, the main purpose for a 27" is to upgrade the ram memory while 24" is limited to 4GB max. grandetech 發表於 2013-12-14 18:57

i replaced LCD monitor (3 times), hard drive, DVD writer, SD card slot
the technician said the LCD issues (uneven color & brightness) are related to heat dissipation Jason 發表於 2013-12-15 22:47

no wonder there is a seller told me he also replaced screen, drive, dvd as well for late 2009 model, it must be a design defect for 27" while 24" is fine for less heat, thanks very much for the info, I better close this WTB now. grandetech 發表於 2013-12-15 23:28

i was told by an apple technician that it is a general problem of older design iMac.
hope it helps lah :loveliness: My iMac 27" i7 2010 motherboard was dead 15 days after delivery probably due to heat and Apple take 2 weeks to repair it (they don't have local spare parts at that moment!).
After that I connect an USB fan at the back of the iMac 27" i7 so it will turn on everytime the iMac is switched on and I have used it for 3 years and self-upgraded with SSD last year. My iMac has problems with HD(Seagate problem), Graphics Card, SD card slot. I also upgraded to SSD but then my SSD failed once and replaced.
open the glass cover is easy, buy a suction cup tool at japan city to suck it out from the top end. Easy.. i have changed 3 imac to ssd already I am using a 27" iMac with SSD, so far no problem, It's really fast!
