Bubu, there are really 2 seasons in California (relatively), wet (Nov-May) & dry (Jun-Oct), especially in San Francisco Bay Area. Most plants only turn green during the late winter, spring, & till mid summer. There is not enough rain since 2010/11. We have to conserve water usage (cutting 20-25%) in California.
The refuge in where these pictures were taken is quite dry. The swamps here are much larger in normal rainy season with lot of birds & insects. Let me try taking some pictures in this spring & see whether there are any differences under IR, comparing to what I have posted here. Any way, weeds will start to turn yellow along with some of the bushes in late summer. |
