Very impressive MTF.  Hefty falloff @1.4 though.

1kg - what a heavyweight!

If it has no focus shift, it should be good for taking videos on FF Canikon cameras.

I'd love to see some picture samples.

actually im quite impressed by the samples.

4kUSD is high for Japanese lenses, but not outrageous comparing to Leica glasses.

Size and weight are determinative.  I'd rather pay another 20k for the Cron APO just because of the size and weight.

Maybe I'm no longer young.  I don't have any appetite for a 1kg lens anymore.  But I understand that there are lots of fanatics out there who are more than willing to haul gear around.  Paired with D800E, I'm sure the performance of the Otus will be outstanding though.

yes, he didn't said but only hinted by showing the graphs. don't think it is easy to see the differences in actual picture taking.

Why only Leica & Canon willing to issue modern lens larger than f1.4? only M50/0.95 & EF50/1.2L....

If Nikon make it 58/1.2 again.... it's a big step that will make me change camp

exactly. 1700 USD is not cheap for a nikon prime lens. If it were a 1.2, I would be very interested in it.

But now... so and so la.
