This time my advice is serious as my family just had a new member. All you need a practical fast af camera but not a well designed and good looking camera with old sensor.
If you want a handy mirrorless AF camera for your wife, get a Sony A6000 or Olympus EP5 (which my wife used to have one when my baby girl was born) because either of them's focus speed is really fast which can catch baby's fast and tiny body and face movements.
Also, Sony has their nice Zeiss (so-called approved) and M4/3 has decent LEICA (so-called approved) lenses whereas T has Japanese unknown manufacturer (alleged Leica made) lenes.
Set yourself a M/M9P/M-E that you wouldn't regret.
For my case, my wife abandoned the EP5 and those Japanese Leica lenses and addicted to the A7 and my various M lenses with the Voigtlander macro adaptor as she realized the image difference.
The only reason why my wife don't use my M-E to take photo for our baby girl is the closest focus distance (so I'm forced to bring my M-E when my wife and baby go outside while I am actually a film lover ).
