Yes, I cropped using different aspect ratios other than 3:2 such as 16:9, 4:5, etc for the effects.

With M lenses of fixed focal lengths, my framing control was far from perfect.  I was not always at the right distances because actions were always going on.  It didn't help when I was using 90mm on rangefinders because the framelines were so inaccurate!  Most of what I did was no more than guesswork.  The tight ones were mostly the ones taken with teles when I was too close to the subjects.  For the panos, I was just lucky to get the consecutive pictures handheld and control was always sloppy.

For this kind of work I usually cut out almost all of the foreground.  For portraits, I usually leave no more headroom than is necessary.  Maybe my sense of framing was always too tight and I need to leave more space in the background.  I also need to be more flexible with photos of people in action.  This is an area where I am learning and practising.

Low-key, narrow grey-scale pictures are always my favourite.

A little bit grainy helps the atmosphere as well.
