Anyone using R24 2.8 lens?

I have been using the M24 Lux a lot lately. The reason I chose 24mm instead of 21 was because of the R24 I had when I was using my R8. The R24 was one I used more than other R lenses I have.

Nice captures!!  I had used the R 24 F2.8 rom on A99 before.  It's a lens designed by Minolta.

Yes, indeed by Minolta. What I found interesting with this lens is the unusually close focusing range of 300mm, a lot shorter than most R & M lenses.

This can be useful when closeup shooting is needed.

Very nice indeed.  I am now using this on A7R occasionally and it always can provide edge to edge sharpness.  How you think the IQ between R 24 and M 24 lux?

With M240, so happy that I can now use all my R lenses, including the 24 2.8. The only drawback that R lenses is the size and weight. Other than that they are all great lenses.

R24 2.8 is actually a very good lens for wide and close range. Even it is not made by Leica in Germany, I am more than happy with the IQ, considering the price/performance ratio.

I have used the M24 1.4 a lot lately and not sure if you have seen the other thread I share here

M24 1.4 is about the same size and weight but is a faster lens. Image quality can be very good to excellent if you can spare the time and effort to Lightroom it.

Now when I am travelling, M24 1.4 is my lens to have.

The R24 is a lovely lens. It was made in Germany based on a Minolta design. It is because of its Japanese heritage that this lens has been such a bargain.

Think it should be easy to find and not expensive. The 300mm closest focus distance is so good and 24mm is great for landscape too.
