JL Paris size help

I tried on a pair of 41 at airport, they were a bit loose and for 40 they were just fit. Sadly, they did not have 40.5.

Any ching can give me advice on which size to get? The sales lady suggested me to go for size 40...

BTW, this is the pair I want to get...(pic from JL website)...in airport they only have in onyx & ruby
